BRD helps secure mortgage

Mr Sanders and his partner were seeking a mortgage on a new property when the building society’s surveyor identified potential subsidence damage of the gable end wall.  The surveyor suspected it was due to numerous mature trees growing in close proximity to the house.

A simple ground investigation by BRD proved the structural damage had not been caused by the trees and expensive underpinning was avoided.  BRD worked closely with Hibberd Structural Engineers to explain how the damage had occurred and develop a cheap straightforward repair scheme.  On the basis of the combined report, building society were happy to lend on the property.

Mr Sanders said “Without the help from BRD we simply would not have been able to secure our dream home.  Their prompt and efficient service was very much appreciated”.
