BRD to eliminate oil smell

A catastrophic leak in a heating oil fuel line forced a young family from their Lincolnshire home with odours penetrating the living area.  BRD have been called in to remediate the oil spill.  The grossly contaminated soils were generally confined to the service trench and these were removed by careful excavation.  The oil smell was entering the home via the gap around the foul drain pipe and as a preacuitonary measure speciliast remediation chemicals were injected into the soils beneath the floor to eliminate the odour.  By excavating alongside the house, it was possible to inject from the outside and thereby saving internal disruption.  BRD undertook internal vapour monitoring and testing of water supplies to provide further reassurance to the householder that their home was safe to return to.
